Introduction
This Applicant Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes how Specialized, Metro One, M1Global and Aurix, and its affiliate entities (“Company,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses and discloses your personal information in connection with information we collect about you as an applicant. This Notice applies to any information you provide directly to us or via our ‘Join our Team’ page of our website. This Notice does not apply to our collection and use of personal information in a consumer or business to business capacity.
Updates to This Notice
We may update this Notice based upon evolving laws, regulations and industry standards, or as we may make changes to our internal policies. We will take appropriate measures to inform you consistent with the significance of the changes we make and encourage you to review any such updates to stay informed.
Personal Information We Collect
We collect and use information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular applicant or employee or household (“personal information”). Personal information does not include deidentified or aggregate information, publicly available information, or any categories of information that are exempt by applicable statutory law. As an applicant we may process the following personal information:
- Identifiers, such as a real name, postal address, IP Address, date of birth, email address, telephone number, account name, or other similar identifiers.
- Identifiers such as Social Security numbers or taxpayer identification numbers.
- Personal information as defined in the California customer records law, such as financial information and medical and health insurance information.
- Protected class information, such as characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law, such as sex, marital status, immigration status, and citizenship information.
- Internet or network activity information, such as information regarding interactions with our websites.
- Geolocation data, such as device location.
- Audio/video/electronic data, such as call and video recordings.
- Professional or employment information, such as benefits and payroll information.
- Inferences drawn from any of the Personal Information listed above and
- Sensitive personal information such as social security numbers, driver’s license or state identification card.
We collect this personal information directly from you, our service providers such as background checking services, and from your devices when you visit our website.
Information We Automatically Collect
When you use our website, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the website, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically collected information as “Device Information”.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

How We Protect Your Personal Information

Retention Period

Your Privacy Choices
Consumer privacy laws or regulations in certain jurisdictions may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our use of personal information. The following section applies solely to individuals who reside in California. Applicants who do not reside in California may also email us if they have any questions regarding their personal information.
Right to Access Specific Information and Data Portability Right. You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of Personal Information over the past twelve (12) months. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose to you:
- The categories of Personal Information we collected about you
- The categories of sources for the Personal Information we collected about you
- Our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that Personal Information (if such activities were performed)
- The categories of third parties with whom we share that Personal Information
- The specific pieces of Personal Information we collected about you (also called a data portability request)
- If we disclosed Personal Information for a business purpose, the business purpose for which Personal Information was disclosed, and the Personal Information categories that each category of recipient obtained
Right to Correct Information – You have the right to request we update Personal Information about you that is incorrect in our systems.
Right to Delete – You have the right to request that we delete any Personal Information about you that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) the Personal Information from our records, unless an exception applies.
Right to Opt-out of the sale of Personal Information or sharing of Personal Information for Cross-Contextual
Behavioral Advertising – Please note we do not “sell” (as such term is defined under applicable law) or share Personal Information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising purposes.
Right to limit how we use sensitive personal information. Please note we only use your sensitive personal information to process your application to our business.
Right to opt-out of automated decision making technologies. Please see below for more information on ADMTs.
Automated decision-making technologies are technologies that process personal information and use computation to execute a decision and either replace or substantially replace human decision-making, resulting in decisions made without human involvement. Decisions are significant when they result in the provision or denial of employment or independent contracting opportunities or compensation, education enrollment or opportunities, housing, healthcare services, or financial or lending services. Advertising is not a significant decision. We do not currently use ADMT to make significant decisions about applicants, so we do not provide ADMT access, opt-out, or appeal rights.
Exercising Your Rights
To access or delete specific pieces of personal information we will need to verify your identity to the degree of certainty required by law. As permitted by applicable law, any request you submit to us is subject to an identification and residency verification process (“Verifiable Consumer Request”). We will not fulfill your request unless you have provided sufficient information for us to reasonably verify you are the consumer about whom we collected personal information.
Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf (an “Authorized Agent”), may make a request to know or delete related to your personal data. We require Authorized Agents to provide written authorization confirming they may submit a request on your behalf. You may only submit a request to know twice within a 12-month period. We endeavor to substantively respond to a Verifiable Consumer Request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt unless we require an extension. If we reasonably require an extension, we will inform you of the reason and extension period.

Once we receive your request and confirm your identity, we will review your request. We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is proper and necessary or if an exception allowing us to retain the information applies.
Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your data subject rights. We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your Verifiable Consumer Request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.
California’s Shine the Light Law
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits Users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of the information you provide through the Site to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
